Every semester, one of the LaSSI directors teaches the Experimental Research in Sociology class. This is a combined graduate/undergraduate course that teaches students research ethics, theory, experimental design, experimental procedures, and data interpretation. It is a non-traditional format class; after several weeks of training, the students work as researchers in current and ongoing experimental projects in the laboratory. Nearly all of the undergraduate students in the lab were recommended by their professors from other courses, and all underwent an interview process before gaining admission into the class. They are an exceptional group of scholars.
